Jemma Hampson

I developed an interest in law whilst studying at college and chose to pursue it in university. I joined Birchall Blackburn Law in the clinical negligence department in 2017 and commenced my training contract in 2019.

I work as part of an experienced team of Clinical Negligence specialists and I have assisted on a wide range of clinical negligence claims including:

• Serious birth injuries
• Delayed diagnosis of cauda equina
• Missed fractures
• Negligent consent process
• Pressure sores or bedsores
• Delayed referral by a GP
• Negligent ophthalmology treatment

I choose to specialist in clinical negligence, as I enjoyed the detailed investigation of medical records and reviewing the cases. I also believe it is important to obtain compensation for those who have suffered with negligent medical treatment to assist them in the future.

My favourite part of the role is working within the clinical negligence team and working on a case as it progresses and seeing how a case develops.
